It's been 3 months and the waiting period of 6 months to try again is like forever. At the mean, I did lots of read up on molar pregnancy and I realised after D&C, hCG level must be monitored. But... after my D&C and follow up, no blood test no nothing to check on my hCG level. It got me worried and I had so many questions too as I read that the waiting time do not need to be 6 months can be shorter so long as hCG level goes down to 0. So I decided to book an appointment at KKH.
I went there and did blood test as well as a detail ultrascan. I will be going back for my test result on Thursday, hopefully and really crossing my finger that my hCG level will be 0.
I asked the Doctor if I could try before the waiting time of six months, the way he replied was quite funny. He was beating around the bush.
Me: "I read up that the waiting time can be shorter than 6 months right?"
Dr: "Where did you read up from?"
Me: "From the internet."
Dr: "ya, which website?"
Me: "Babycenter"
Dr: "ya. Those website are like that, that why I printed some references for you. The recommended waiting time is 12 months."
Me: "12 months?! But if I want to try I still can try before 6 months right."
Dr: "hmm... as a Doctor, I would still tell patient 12 months."
Me: "But I can right?"
Dr: "Well it's at your own risk and I do have patients who give birth successfully."
Me: "So I can try and it could be a successful pregnancy?"
Dr (he stare into my eyes): "Well... your's is partial molar, you have 98% of success rate for your next so you only got 2% of unsuccessful. Theorically I would tell you to wait 12 months. So I will ask you to wait theorically, do you understand that by theorically but if you want to try, it's at your own risk. Let's see what is your test result first before you take the next step."
Me: "ok"
By the time he stare into my eyes, it's like I got his message. He can't say things that could risk his professionalism as a doctor, there is guidelines that he needs to follow but well, I catch the ball... =)

Finally Something Good to Hear
Have been hearing bad news since August. First, baby no heartbeat then not growing well then miscarriage then Keon and Kiern got Herpangina then me getting herpangina too and admitted to KTPH A&E due to high fever and low bp then to the news where I can only try for a baby 6 months later.
So at least something good came out at the end of September. Went back to my gynae for check up again cos' for molar pregnancy, we have to observe my hCG level, it must go down if not may need to do chemotherapy. My gynae said he will do a pregnancy test first if positive then will need blood test. Reason being if hCG level is high, I will still be tested positive on a pregnancy test even though I am not pregnant. So it was such a relieve when my gynae broke the good news the moment I step into his clinic, "Good news, today dun need to do blood test, the level went down and you are tested negative". It's like a heavy stone have been release from my heart.
Anyway, I went into the clinic with a heavy heart. The pregnant women in the clinic kinda of make me sad cos' it make me think that it could have been me... but still I am keeping myself positive. Trying to build up my health by taking folic acid, cutting down on coffee etc. Hopefully good news will come in Februrary. =)

A baby that never come...
I ponder very long if I should document this loss, simply because it will be too painful for me to type this post. Still... I decided to write to remember the short live happiness.
Hubby and I had planned for baby #3 back in 2007 when I was still pregnant with Keon.
I was so happy, excited and eager for my third and final pregnancy journey, as hubby promised to give me the best for this last pregnancy journey, when I knew I was pregnant. It was my first time testing on a digital pregnancy kit as back then, during my first 2 pregnancy, there were no digital kit.
After knowing that I am pregnant, I kind of take things for granted that my first 2 pregnancy were smooth sailing. I continued to carry Keon and carried heavy things and also delay going to my gynae. I first went to my gynae on 1 August 2011, when I spotted stains of blood when I urinate. As usual, my gynae gave me a jab and prescribed me with dulphostro. My sister went with me for that visit and I was telling her, everything is fine as it happened during my first 2 pregnancy as well and nothing goes wrong (taking for granted yet again). I was happy to see a sac even though there was no heartbeat. My gynae asked me to go back ten days later and I was given 3 days MC with 2 days bed rest instructed by my gynae. At the mean time, I kept talking to baby to grow well and let me see heartbeat on the next visit.
On 10 August 2011, I went back to the clinic, feeling eager to see and hear my baby heartbeat. Gynae was unable to detect any heartbeat. He said could be still early to detect and need to go back 1 week later to check again, by then we must detect heartbeat if not it would be miscarriage. Came out of the clinic feeling scared and worried but still I tried to be positive.
I called a few clinic the next day morning, some didn't pick up the call, others said their doctor won't be in. Finally got an appointment with Dr Yvonne Chan at Thomson Medical Center. We told her that we needed second opinion. She did v-scan for me and she said "the baby is not growing well and the water bag is in an odd shape, I'm afraid it's a miscarriage. I know you come here for hope and I am sorry I can't give you the hope." I held back my tears. Hubby had said earlier to me, there is nothing we can do, it's just not meant to be.
So the next day, I went back to my gynae and did the D&C. All ended on 19 August 2011.
Many things ran through my mind back then. Is it because the ball that hit my back when I was working, is it because I carried Keon, is it because of all the excercise I did for my sport module, is it because of stress??? Ironically, I had a nightmare on 5 August, when I was still pregnant, I dreamt of something similar to miscarriage, is it a sign? After this roller coaster ride, all I want was a green light from my gynae that I could try again when my menstruation starts again but sadly, bad news just keep coming to me. I went back to the clinic for review on 5 October, my gynae said the report is back and my miscarriage is due to incomplete hydatidiform mole aka molar pregnancy so I have to wait for 6 months. I went back home feeling so clueless what is hydatidiform mole, why do I need to wait for 6 months? So I google for answer:
What causes a molar pregnancy?
Molar pregnancy is thought to be caused by a problem with the genetic information of an egg or sperm. There are two types of molar pregnancy: complete and partial.
Symptoms include:
What's the treatment for a molar pregnancy?
If you're diagnosed with a molar pregnancy, you'll need a D&C (dilation and curettage) or suction curettage to remove the abnormal tissue. This procedure can be done under general or regional anesthesia, or you can be sedated intravenously.
Your practitioner will then want to monitor your levels of hCG once a week to make sure they're declining – an indication that no molar tissue remains. Once the levels go down to zero for a few weeks in a row, you'll still have to have them checked every month or two for the next year.
Occasionally, abnormal cells remain after the tissue is removed. This happens in up to 11 percent of women with partial moles and 18 to 29 percent of women with complete moles and it's called persistent gestational trophoblastic neoplasia.
In most cases, the persistent moles can be treated with chemotherapy. But a very small number of them (1 in 20,000 to 40,000) will advance to a form of malignant cancer called gestational choriocarcinoma.
With prompt and appropriate treatment, nearly 100 percent of cases of gestational choriocarcinoma are curable when it hasn't spread beyond the uterus. Even in rare cases in which the abnormal cells have spread to other organs, 80 to 90 percent of cases can be cured. After you're in complete remission, you'll need to have your hCG levels monitored for a year, and possibly other regular testing.
When can I try to get pregnant again?
The good news is that, in the vast majority of cases, having a molar pregnancy doesn't affect your chances of having a normal pregnancy next time. But it is important to wait until your doctor says you can start trying again.
If you haven't had chemotherapy, you'll need to wait up to six months after your hCG levels go back to normal before trying to get pregnant again (SOGC 2004). If you have had chemotherapy, you are usually recommended to wait 12 months before trying.
If you become pregnant before these times, you have a greater chance of having another molar pregnancy. Your doctor won't be able to tell whether your rising hCG levels are because of your pregnancy or because abnormal tissue is growing back.
You should use contraception until it is safe for you to try for a baby. It's best to use condoms. The pill is not recommended, because if you take it when your hCG levels are still high, it can make you more likely to need chemotherapy. Coils (IUDs) are not suitable either, until your hCG levels and your periods return to normal (Cancer Research 2009, RCOG 2004).
Your odds of having another molar pregnancy are small, about one or two per cent (RCOG 2004). When you're pregnant again, you'll have an ultrasound in your first trimester to make sure all is well.
Hubby and I had planned for baby #3 back in 2007 when I was still pregnant with Keon.

On 17 August 2011, no heartbeat again. My gynae broke the news to me that it's a miscarriage. He schedule me to do D&C two days later. My whole heart dropped the moment I heard what he said! I came out of the clinic, calling hubby and cried through the phone. I reached home and saw hubby eyes were red yet he was acting strong in front of me and I broke down. When we calm down, we decided to seek for second opinion. I got recommendations from friend and forum.
So the next day, I went back to my gynae and did the D&C. All ended on 19 August 2011.

Molar pregnancy is thought to be caused by a problem with the genetic information of an egg or sperm. There are two types of molar pregnancy: complete and partial.
Complete molar pregnancy. An egg with no genetic information is fertilized by a sperm. The sperm grows on its own, but it can only become a lump of tissue. It cannot become a fetus. As this tissue grows, it looks a bit like a cluster of grapes. This cluster of tissue can fill the uterus.
Partial molar pregnancy. An egg is fertilized by two sperm. The placenta becomes the molar growth. Any fetal tissue that forms is likely to have severe defects.
Symptoms include:
- Increased nausea and vomiting
- Vaginal bleeding
- Increased hCG levels
- Rapidly growing uterus
- Pregnancy induced hypertension prior to 24 weeks
- No fetal movement or heart tone detected
- Hyperthyroidism
- Pulmonary Embolism

Spelling!!!
I was surprised to see the way Kiern learned his spelling.

I wrote the words out to teach him how to decode the words and sound the words out and he went further to draw the pictures out to represent each word. I thought it was funny and interesting and a good way to learn spelling especially for a visual learner like him.

Learning @ Home
I always wanted to do home teaching to my 2 Ks but never get started due to numerous "lazy" reasons,
"I got no time"
"Too much work to prepare material"
"Too tired from work"
No more excuses now since I am a early childhood educator. This what I have done with Keon and I am glad he is enjoying it! =)
P/S: Keon started calling me Teacher Jerlynn in school. I am still trying to get use to it though.

First Post in 2011
HELLO 2011! Here comes my first post of the year!
Have been really busy working and studying. Had a changed of job, right now I am a preschool teacher and need to attend an accelerated one year early childhood education course which usually will take 3 years which in other word assignment just keep coming none stop. I am glad that I taken this course, really open my eyes and I could apply what I learnt on my own kids too. The fact on why I chose this line is because the options of working part time or home based is there if in the future I want to slow down my pace. So right now have to work harder to complete my course first (counting down to November 2011). Jia You Jerlynn!!!!!

Mommy's Angels - By Jessi L. Crawford
Undying love, Unshakeable faith
Big little hugs of the tightest embrace
Heart melting smiles, Giggles of joy
Big little hugs of the tightest embrace
Heart melting smiles, Giggles of joy
The sound of pitter patter running across the floor
Twinkles in the eyes, Dimples on the cheeks
Chubby little fingers grabbing tighter on to me
Squeals of laughter, Tears of pain
Little misshapes through out the day
Bed time stories, Lullaby songs
Tucked in deep and fast asleep
Mommy's little angles
That I love with all my might
Makes all the hassle worth the fight
When I see them sleeping at night

Jobless - A little changes to begin with...
I am jobless as of 30 September 2010.
Not that I am going to be a stay at home mum (yes thats the new word for housewife! If you still do not know) but rather trying to find a 5 days work week job. Although for my previous job, I only need to work alternate Saturdays and it will be half day but for that half days, my plan and routine for the boys will be ruined. I had tried not working any Saturdays during a month with all my OT time off and for the month, my quality time that I spent on my boys was so precious. We had breakfast together then I will give Kiern a bit of tuition which he will give his full attention etc and the routine was understood by both boys. The routine gone haywire when I went back to work on a Saturdays. Thats when it make me consider about 5 days work job.
I will be going for a interview on friday, working location for that will be fantastic! As it is only 1 mrt stop away from Khatib =) See how it goes, wish me luck!

Things that warm my ♥
It warms my heart when Keon walks into my room and snuggle under my blanket in the middle of the night and sleeps beside me all night long.
It warms my heart when Kiern offers to help me carry things when he sees that I am carrying his didi.
It warms my heart to see Keon covering with blanket and Kiern was the one who placed the blanket on him.
It warms my heart when after work I saw a moody Keon walking out of a room, only to see me and gave me a mega smile with sparkle in his eyes running towards me and shout "mummy!"
It wrams my heart when Keon kisses me out of the blue.
It warms my heart when Kiern always help to clear the mess that his didi created
It warms my heart when I starts nagging that I am tired and Kiern said "Mummy you are tired because you need to work, you need to carry heavy things, you need to cook, you need to clean the house and take care of me and didi, right? It nearly made me cried to know that my 6 years old boy understands my love and effort. ♥♥♥

Preparation for Primary 1
Kiern is going to Primary 1 next year. Its another major milestones for a Singaporean kid. Me as a mother naturally is excited and worried at the same time.
Excited - Its alway happy to know that your own child has progress well and grow well to the next stage of his life. I am excited to see Kiern going to a bigger school, to make new friends, to wear new school uniform & shoes and to be independent. I am always on a look out on when will Primary 1 registration starts. Even to the extend where I am counting down to July because thats when registration will starts for the Phrase 1 (fyi, Kiern will be in Phrase 2A2). Excitement did not catch up on Kiern, he is still oblivious of what is going to happen next year.
Worried - Is Kiern ready for Primary 1? Things that makes me worry:

Worried - Is Kiern ready for Primary 1? Things that makes me worry:
- In pre-school, all their uniform shorts are elastic band kind whereas in Primary school, its uniform shorts are with hook/button and zipper. Kiern is so used to just pulling his pants down when he wants to pee. Is he gonna wet his pants because he is unable to pull down his pants as easily?
- Kiern got big "open" ears which he inherited from me. I do not have any major problem because as a girl, I have my long hairs to cover my ears but for Kiern, he can't hide. Will other kids laugh at his ears and make him feels upset?
- Kiern is going to buy his own food and drinks when he goes to Primary 1. Do he understand the concept of money values?
- For all who knows Kiern, he do not speak mandarin and lately it seems that he detest the language. Is he able to cope the Chinese lessons?
I am trying to help Kiern do some preparations before he goes to Primary school mainly; I had tasked LaoYe to teach Kiern how to unzip or take out his pants when he needs to go to the loo. Come June, I will be giving Kiern allowances to teach and let him understand the concept of money. As for Chinese, I am still working hard on it. I am teaching him Chinese for the past few months and also he been attending Chinese tuition on every Sat. I did see his improvement, now he can regconise and read some Chinese words but the problem is he do not know how to use it or phase it. Heard that Berries (a Chinese enrichment center) is good, I will be enrolling him into it as Berries are teaching Chinese in a fun and loving way, hopefully he will starts to like to learn Chinese.

Hardworking Parents
Still could not find a time to change my blogskin, shall make do with a change of color.
For the past weeks, I have been really worried about Kiern. He is going to primary 1 next year and it been stressing ME! Yes Me! If you starts to think that by stressing myself up, i am also stressing Kiern then you are WRONG!
I am not a kiasu kind of mum. Kiern had never attended any enrichment class for his first 5 years of his life. He just attend as per usual kids do, 3 years old he was in a half day child care then he proceed to PCF nursery and first half of K1. I guess the only kiasu thing I do for him is to change him from PCF to a private kindergarten. That's all. I am stressing because when I see how most of his age kids are doing much more than him or able to do much more better than him then I start to wonder, is it because I am too relax in terms of parenting? The fact is no matter how I am not kiasu, society has change! We are no longer at the era whereby our parents just make sure we go to school when we reach 4 years old then we just proceed as it is till we graduate. At that time parents are not so kiasu because most of them simply are not kiasu and the society is not so competitive. Now in this 21st century where all living standard and expenses are going up, parents are getting more and more kiasu. So imagine if you were in my shoes where you are still lay back but other parents are putting their kids in enrichment class even when their kids are only 3 months old. When your kid starts schooling then he/she will realize everyone is ahead of him/her then in turns he/she will not do well in school and how will the poor kid feels? Is the kid lazy? Is the kid stupid? The answer is NO, its just that others are doing better than that poor kid.
Just the other day, I was telling laoye, nowadays parents need to be hardworking, no longer is the kids that need to be hardworking. Last time, our parents could just tell us, "you must study, you must be hardworking." Now? We parents cant just say that to our kids, we must teach the kids since young, some do flashcard, some cultivate their kids reading since young, some have to sit down with their kids and check their homework. If you fail to do so, the consequences you shall bear. So the conclusion is... if you want your child to perform well in school, you have to be hardworking and discipline to teach your child daily. I was a lazy mum who will watch tv when i finished my work, I was a laid back mother who dun bother much about my boys education but now I have to change. To change for my boys? Or to change for the society? Frankly, I do not know. At least I want to change to starts teaching my boys everyday so that they wont feel stress or lose out when they go to primary 1.
P/S: A light note to this post.
"Me: *sigh* nowadays parent have to be hardworking, no longer is children need to be hardworking
Laoye: what's make you think so?
Me: Last time, when a kid do well, we say he/she very hardworking. now if a kid do not do well is because the parent not hardworking enough. Nowadays parents need to spend so much time and money to guide their children. If they dun do so then their child also wont perform well.
laoye: true true
Me: so you shall be a hardworking father to work as much as you can so that you can earn lots of money and i shall be the hardworking mother to teach your sons.
laoye: you only thinks of my money right?!
Me: Yes! I want my miu miu or chanel 2.55 bag *big grin*"

FTWM vs SAHM
FTWM = Full Time Working Mother
SAHM = Stay At Home Mum
This have been my dilemma for the past one month. I enjoyed working but my kids are at the stage where they need me. Keon is in his terrible 2 stage where he is throwing his temper most of the time, Kiern is going to be in K2 next year and after which he needs to go primary 1 which i felt that he wasnt ready for it.
Laoye is asking me to stay at home too as his job takes his time away from the kids quite a lot, he felt that one of us should stay at home and be with the kids and that person of course is me.
The reason that i chose to work is to provide for my parents, i always felt that i should have done much more as a daughter so working allows me to give them money to help ease their financial burden.
The reason that i want to be sahm is of cos, my boys! I wanted to be there to guide them in their this stage of life, i wanted to cook for them, to tell bedtime story to them every night.
gosh! If only i could work from home!

It's been so long since my last post!
It's a good 2 months since i last updated my blog.
Have been really busy with work and even if I have free time, it's always spend with my babies or doing household chores.
Keon is now 17 months old. Next month he be ready for childcare centre. Have been hunting for childcare centre around my area, will be checking out for more details on those short-listed childcare centre. At this stage, Keon is very active and naughty. I am trying to discipline him because he likes to do things his way and nobody discipline him if I am working, reason being he is the king in my in laws house. This always make me guilty for not being there for him, to teach him. haiz.. parents are not easy to be.
As for Kiern, he is into drawing nowadays and he is pretty good at it. We are trying to enrol him for piano lesson. I have left my contact with a teacher but waiting for piano teacher to get back to me.
No photos to update cos lately been so busy, that's how busy i am. haiz...

Kiern the Little Grown Up
Time flies... yes time flies sooo fast.
My Kiern gonna be 5 years old soon. He still look like a kid to me but the way he talk remind me that he is growing.
He now talks like a little grown up and I find it fascinating!
Conversation 1
While going out shopping, Laoye was very angry with Kiern because he cant keep his eyes off toys, tv etc in the mall that made him cant keep up with us.
Laoye: I am very angry with you today. Why cant you just follow us?
Kiern: I also very very very angry with you. Why you dont follow me?
Me: Kiern, papa is angry because you keep stopping to watch tv and dun want to walk.
Kiern: I also angry with him. You can wait for a minute, when I'm finish, we can go.
*At that point of time, it made me realised, we got no right to be angry with him. He is right, why must the kid be the one to follow us, adult pace, and why not the other way round? Since we are in the mall then what are we rushing at? It also made me realised how fast our Singapore life pace are, at times it will be nice to slow down our pace and look at the surrounding just like Kiern did.
Conversation 2
Kiern unintentionally made Keon falls.
Me: You cannot scold, beat or snatch things from didi. He is still a baby, he dun understand many things because he is learning. You as a kor kor must teach him nicely like a teacher just like how your teacher teaches you.
After a while, I scolded Keon for climbing up a chair.
Kiern: Mummy you cannot scold didi! He dun understand what you were saying. He is just a baby, you cannot scold him, you must teach him.
Conversation 3
The maid put many toys into the playpen when Keon was in there.
Kiern: Auntie! You cannot put so many toys into the playpen, later didi will knock his head!
Conversation 4
The maid never cut his noodle
Kiern: Auntie, why you never cut the mee for me? Like that it is very difficult for me to chew!
Conversation 5
The maid forgot to switch off the toilet light which is in the noon.
Kiern: Auntie, why you never switch off the toilet light? Now still got sun and nobody is in there!
The maid dun understand what he says.
Kiern: Auntie, I asked you to switch off the light, why you still never switch it off?!
Conversation 6
Mother in law forgets to cut apple for him which she promised him that she will do it.
Kiern: auntie, make milk for ah ma.
Mil: why make milk for me?
Kiern: because ah ma is getting old.
Conversation 7
Just happen today, when we came back home. After I bath and changed him.
Kiern whispered: Mummy i think we need to go mama( aka granny) house.
Me: go mama house for what?
